You might be surprised at all the things that you already have in your kitchen that you can use to make great organic skin care items for your skin.
I’d like to share with you some organic skin care recipes that I’ve found over the years that really do a great job in helping to keep your skin radiant and healthy looking. I hope that you’ll find them as helpful as I have over the years.
Recipe for Lip Balm
Too often when it comes to organic skin care we tend to overlook our lips. But just like the skin on our face and other parts of our body, our lips need to be taken care of as well. Here’s a really easy lip balm recipe that you should be able to easily make at home.
4 tablespoons of un-melted beeswax pellets
6 tablespoons of olive oil
3 tablespoons of shea butter
½ teaspoon of vitamin E oil
20 drops of your favorite essential oil
1/8 teaspoon of powdered stevia (optional)
Put all the ingredients in a glass bowl or metal bowl that will fit over a small pan of water and then turn the heat on low. Slowly mix all the ingredients together until it’s all blended and melted. By the way the essential oils I often like to use are orange, lime, lemon and peppermint. I like to switch it up and not always uses the same oils each time I make this.
After it’s melted then take the mixture and pour it into tubes or small jars with lids. Let it cool. After it’s cooled off it’s ready to use as a great organic skin care product for your lips.
Recipe for Homemade Lotion
This organic skin care lotion found here may not contain ingredients you have on hand but you can easily find them at health food stores or you can order them online quite easily.
¼ cup of emulsifying wax pellets
2 tablespoons of stearic acid flakes
1 teaspoon of citric acid
1 cup shea or almond butter
¾ cup of oil such as almond, jojoba, sunflower, or coconut oils
3 tablespoons of glycerin
1 ¼ cups of water
½ teaspoon of rosemary oil extract
½ teaspoon of vitamin E oil
Essential oils (your favorite and as much as you want)
Take and melt the butter by putting it in a glass bowl in a small pan of water and heat it on low. Once you’ve melted it you can add the wax, stearic acid flakes and the oils. Once they’ve all melted together you can then blend the ingredients in your blender. Next take and heat the glycerin and water to 140° F and slowly pour it in the blender while the blender is still moving on a low setting. Then add the vitamin E and the rosemary oil and any essential oils you want for a nice scent.
You should blend this mixture a few times over a period of about 30 minutes or until the mixture looks like a smooth lotion. Once you’re sure it’s done pour it into containers with lids and let it cool before using it. Once it’s cooled off you’ll have a great organic skin care lotion that should last up to two months and longer if you store it in your fridge.
Simple and Easy Facial Cleanser
This is a great organic skin care cleanser that will help you remove your makeup and clean your entire face naturally and gently.
½ cup of water
2 tablespoons of aloe vera
2 tablespoons of vegetable glycerin
2 tablespoons of baking soda
Optional ingredients you can choose to add to this organic skin care cleanser:
2 tablespoons of raw honey
1 teaspoon of chamomile extract
1 teaspoon of green tea extract
15 drops of peppermint essential oil
30 drops of lemon, grapefruit, or orange essential oil
Take all the ingredients you want including any of the optional ingredients and mix them well. Once they are mixed together pour the mixture into a clean bottle. This cleanser is not going to be very thick. If you want to make it thicker you can add ½ teaspoon of xanthan gum that you blend in your blender with your cleanser.
This organic skin care cleanser is easy to make and it will really leave your skin clean and feeling refreshed.
Easy to Make Natural Toner
This is one of my all time favorite organic skin care products you can easily make in your kitchen. Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.
½ cup of water
1 tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar
10 drops of lemon essential oil
7 drops of tea tree essential oil
Just mix all of the ingredients together and then pour into a bottle that has a pump in it so you can easily spray the toner on a cotton ball or cotton pad. That’s all there is to it. Simple, works well and is very refreshing.
I hope that you will try some of these great organic skin care products for yourself so that you too can enjoy beautiful and healthy looking skin.
