No, I never said it was, it obviously is not confidential, it is just in poor taste and is quite tacky. It is up to any company to have a certain "type" of employee who they see as a good fit, and she just didn't cut it due to her being the type of person to twitter her excitement of being part of a reality show. It is any company's prerogative to choose who to hire or fire and it is up to any company to make their excuses as to why they want to fire someone. If they don't want to associate with her type of person (the type that would tweet about being on a reality show), then that is their right. It's like how people form cliques early in life, not everyone belongs for whatever reasons and that's just the way life is.

See, I disagree. She didn't state anything that wasn't a simple fact. There WERE camera crews there. How is that confidential? And by being hired, she would not only be part of the staff, but part of the cast. I just don't see where she broke even the simplest confidence.

Some blogger said this and I couldn't agree more --- She tweeted, “got my coffee headed off to my interview at People’s Revolution. excited. I got this. will tweet after the good news.” And, “omg omg omg omg!! I start monday!!!!!!” Again, this didn’t seem like that big of an offense. Tweeting about a job you got seems okay even though you hadn’t officially started. Where she went wrong is saying things like “I start Monday!!!!!! n Peoples Revolution is going to be on Bravo & I’m part of the Cast!!!!!!”, and “cameras crews were there”. She was obviously more excited to be the next Whitney Port than to put on a fashion show. -- so yes, she was rightfully fired for wanting to be "part of the cast!!!!"

Well I don't believe that is my argument and I don't believe that Virginia twittered anything confidential. I'm more surprised by the team's reaction than by their actions.

And your argument re: confidential information falls flat given that Kelly posted Vorhees' SALARY on the internet. Doesn't get much more confidential than that.

In their defense about the blogging, they are blogging about what's happening as the show presents events, and not as they happen in real time. Given how tons of reality shows make people sign NDA's to protect material that will later be presented, they had a legitimate right to be weary about someone who was so frivolously twittering every single detail about joining the cast.

And how much of their twittering details actual events and not trivialities like "I'm tired and need coffee." Virginia gave them every reason to believe that discretion would not be her forte and has no reason to be pissed. Just because someone embraces new social media doesn't mean s/he is adept at using it in the best possible way for the sake of the company. Your argument essentially says that someone at XYZ company should hire a twittering fiend even though that person may divulge confidential or sensitive material to the masses because they embrace new media.

I thought the same thing when their twitter was on rapid fire this week along with RT everything Skinner or the rest were saying. Didn't they freak out over the misspelling in a press release. I do think Kelly has some valid points in her book but she's on twitter overload at the moment.

Also, I had to say that Virginia made a HUGE error in talking about the job and "joining the cast" on Twitter. Also, I had to think, why was an assistant hiring her and not Skinner?
