I'll give you a minute.

If that sounds like a small town without so much as a Starbucks or a movie theater, then you're on the right track. It's about 50 miles northeast of New Orleans on the Louisiana-Mississippi line.
I'm going home.
We had always talked about relocating when we were emptynesters. We decided we would give Elijah a year to get himself settled before we left. He's not where we had expected him to be, but maybe a little space is just what's needed to give him a chance to learn to stand on his own feet.
I suspect we will actually be living in or around Covington, La. That's on the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain, about half-way between Bogalusa and New Orleans.
There's a Cafe du Monde and an Acme Oyster House there.
Just think of all the SAINTS games I'll get on TV (all of them!!)! Less than an hour from my beloved New Orleans! Less than 100 miles from my hometown on the Mississippi coast!
I've been watching Sundry's move from Seattle to Eugene, Oregon, very closely. Right now I'm hanging on her words: Hey, me-of-thirty-plus-days-ago: Stop being so worried about change. Because I haven't relocated to a new city in 26 years.
Current state of mind: Completely overwhelmed by all that has to be done.
And so we're off to the land of magnolias and pelicans. Let the adventure begin.

Oh, man! CONGRATULATIONS! I'm very happy for you.
YAY!! So thrilled for you! Congratulations!
Squee! You'll be right next to Abita Springs, home of the very best root beer in the entire world! We freaking love Abita Springs -- we stop there whenever we're driving to/from DH's brother's place in Fairhope, Alabama. Such a weird and awesome little town.
Congratulations! Sounds like a very exciting new chapter for you!
Wow, congrats! Somehow I never thought you'd leave Memphis.
Totally jealous and wish I could do it, too. Let me know if you need someone down there.
Congrats Kalisa! This sounds like an amazing opportunity :)
That sounds great! Congratulations on your new job--I'm excited for you guys.
Wow, Bogalusa...that sounds AWESOME! Good luck with all the preparations.
May I please have Elijah's phone number and e-mail address? When do you leave and what's the new job? I thought Canada was in your future. Mother Teresa
Congratulations!!!!! Sounds like a wonderful opportunity for a positive and happy change. :)
Does that mean you will be changing the name of your blog to The One in Lumberjack Boots?
