Ciao, Memphis

Today is my last day in Memphis. I've lived here 26 years, and have seen some big changes. (One of the greatest has been the vast improvement in shopping over that time.) There are some places and things that I'm sincerely going to miss.

Capote cupcakes from Muddy's Bake Shop

Tiger Basketball

Matt and Kim and all the baristas at my neighborhood Starbucks

Shelby Farms dog park

Las Tortugas Mexican Deli

My Gould's hairdresser, Grant

The Germantown Commissary BBQ

WKNO, My NPR radio station

People-watching in the Peabody Hotel lobby bar

Joe Birch on the evening news

Pandas at the Zoo

Special occasions at Frank Grisanti's

Trolley rides on the River

Jerry's Snow Cones

Memphis Magazine

Death Week

See ya on the flip side.

has left the building.
Thank ya. Thank ya very much.

Best wishes to you and Chip, and for Elijah. It is truly like he's moving away from home now.
