Can I Get a Do-Over?

There are plenty - PLENTY - of parenting moments that I would like a do-over on, I'm sure. But there's one that comes to mind over and over as my true Mother of the Year moment.

Elijah was in Kindergarten when he lost his first baby tooth. His teacher wrapped it in tissue and sent it home with him.

Now, we used to eat out a lot when he was growing up. Like, A LOT. We never quite got the hang of cooking dinner at home when we didn't get home until 6 or 6:30. So on this day that E had lost his first tooth, I picked him up at school and we met Dad at a Mexican restaurant in our neighborhood. He was naturally very excited to show us the tooth and to put it under his pillow.

Only...we went and left it on the restaurant table. OF COURSE WE DID.

We realized part-way home that we'd forgotten it and rushed back to the restaurant. But they'd already bused our table and hadn't really paid much attention to what was in the napkins - it just all went in the trash.

I may have been more upset than Elijah. He still got a visit from the Tooth Fairy, of course. But what kind of mom throws away her child's first tooth?

Now that he's almost 19, I know that tossing out his first lost tooth didn't really make a mark in my overall parenting record. I'm sure there are plenty of other things I did - or didn't do - that will require actual therapy. The only reason he even remembers what happened to that tooth is probably because I KEEP TALKING ABOUT IT.

Baby Teeth: Can I get a #do-over?

The Frigidaire Gallery™Dishwasher gets dishes fully cleaned the first time, so there are no dish do-overs. Nearly half of adults admit to re-washing and/or re-drying dishes after the dishwasher cycle has been completed. To prevent dishwasher do-overs, Frigidaire® is stepping in with its new Gallery® Dishwasher featuring the OrbitCleanTM Wash Arm, ensuring dishes are cleaned right the first time.

awww..I have been involved with the do-over moment movement with Frigidaire and ur story is one of the best I have read so far! Hilarious, little bit sad (just a tad!) and really worthy of a do-over!! Your son is a handsome man for sure:-)
