Big Daddy: Hey, did we take the trash bin down to the street?
Me: No.
BD: (thinking he's got to go out in the cold rain to do it) ...
Me: But they're not going to come until tomorrow, honey. They're going to be a day behind. I realize not everyone gets the day off, but don't you think SANITATION WORKERS in MEMPHIS were off on MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY?

I'm betting you made his day once he got over the obviousness of his blunder.
Too much! I thought the same thing here as we have Trash Valet on M, W & F of each week - and I neglected to put out the trash containing the eggs that went bad during the power outtage. Well, they took the trash yesterday like clockwork. I wouldn't be surprised if my neighbors want to kill me right now.
Excellent application of irony and good news.
Mixing the two can be tricky and possibly flammable.
well I certainly hope no one took this the wrong way. My point is how quickly people forget, even in this town.
