What would you say?

Bush is coming to Memphis on Monday for a $1,000-a-plate fundraiser for our republican senator Lamar Alexander. Just to put that into perspective, we will spend $12 million on the war in Iraq during the four hours that they will be wining and dining.

(I can't believe any republicans actually still WANT his appearance at their events. But I digress.)

The Mid-South Peace & Justice Center is organizing a protest from 2-4 outside the event. (Memphis readers: Meet at Central in front of Pink Palace Museum if you're interested in attending.) Luckily, I work for a democrat, so I think I can probably get off work.

(Remember? I attended the last protest when he was here during the election. Man, it was GREAT.)

I'm guessing the MSPJC will have some kinds of signs or something they'll hand out (last time, it was Kerry signs) but I think I'm going to make my own. I mean, this is my chance to make my "voice" heard, so to "speak" (heh.).

But I'm having a hard time deciding what I want to say. So I'm looking to you for some help. What do you think is THE most pressing issue facing our nation today? If you could say anything to the president, what would it be? What would your sign say?

Leave your suggestions in the comments.

You're an F$%^ing idiot. You are a disgrace and a coward. You haven't got a brain to think with. You wouldn't use it if you found it. Your wife must be an idiot too because she puts up with you. You have done everything wrong to backtrack our country well beyond where it was when your Daddy & that fool Reagan were in office. I thought your Daddy was bad. Boy was I the idiot. We'd never met his son. Your foreign policy is a joke. The "go to War", ask questions later mentality is juvenile and dangerous. You are running the largest, strongest superpower country in the world INTO THE GROUND. You've made us the laughing stock of the world. I thought there was shame eight years ago when I traveled to Europe amidst the Clinton-Lewinski scandal. Again, I was the idiot. Clinton was a God of intelligence compared to you. The countdown to get you out of office began over 6 years ago in my house. And personally, that day cannot come soon enough. I am disgraced to know that you at times call my state (Maine) home.

Sooo...basically what you're saying is I could totally count on you to join the protest if you lived here?

(For a second there, when I started reading the comment, I thought you were calling ME the fucking idiot.)

I was thinking of making a sign that says simply I MISS BILL. What do you think?

haha I like the I MISS BILL thing. And if I lived their, I'd totally join you, too. A couple of weeks ago one of my friends protested at the White House with a bunch of people from her college (GWU). I'm bummed I missed that one too!

I loved Bill (take that however you want), and personally hope he gets back in the white house. He and wife can get this country back on track.
