I'm still hoping to get these shoes for my birthday



and coverage in today's NYT Magazine got me looking at sweater dresses ("swiftly racking up votes for the retail world’s Homecoming queen") to go with them.


Like this off-white BCBG ribbed sweater dress ($278 at nordstrom.com). I'm all about the not-black dresses with black tights this fall.

Of course grey is going to be huge this year. So classic ($148 at anntaylor.com). With this dress, I would do grey tights with the black shoes.

This Juicy Couture dress ($298 at nordstrom.com) would be cute in the winter with a long-sleeved black bodysuit & tights under it. I'm planning to take several of my empire-waisted summer dresses into the next season that way.

I've already picked up this adorable Isaac Mizrahi red trapeeze dress from Target (yes! Target! $34.99!). I've already worn it over a short-sleeved black shiny t-shirt and gotten tons of compliments.

Lastly is this Ella Moss Rosebud dress ($167 at nordstrom.com), while not a sweater dress is so very pretty with such a flattering cut. This will totally work for fall over a turtleneck and dark tights.
